E-Commerce Bill Will Light Blue Touch Paper On Internet Boom

Mark Ransford, spokesperson for screentrade, MISYS's on-line insurance service, said: "In theory this should stoke up the Internet boom even further as it will be even easier to buy on-line and add further benefits to managing your money on-line. We were the first provider to offer consumers the chance to buy insurance on-line and have been calling for electronic signatures for a number of months."

According to a recent MORI poll commissioned by screentrade/Interactive Investor:-

  • An extra 2.2 million people approximately have started using the Internet in the last six months
  • Since April, approximately 15 000 extra people per week have been using the Internet to arrange their finances

Screentrade offers a quick and convenient way of comparing the different travel, motor and home policies on offer, displaying the best quotes available from the major UK insurers with all the key information contained on a single page. Users can compare prices and features, select the one that really suits them best, and then go on to buy the chosen policy on-line. And all in about the same time as it takes to call one direct provider.
