On the eve of FIFA's decision about who will host the 2018 World Cup, more Scots have chosen England as their favoured host, in front of the other two main contenders according to a new survey by Ipsos Scotland.
On the eve of FIFA's decision about who will host the 2018 World Cup, more Scots have chosen England as their favoured host, in front of the other two main contenders. More than four in Scots (42%) back the bid from south of the border while three in ten (30%) chose the joint bid from Spain and Portugal and only 7% backed the bid from Russia. Support for the England bid was consistent among all key demographic groups, though there were some differences along lines of party support. Those who reported that they support the SNP were less likely to support the England bid (37%) than those who support Labour (45%), Liberal Democrats (50%) or Conservative (52%).
