Knee pain sufferers let down by lack of treatment choice

Ipsos research fpr Bupa has shown that 1 in 4 Britons have suffered from knee pain in the last year and 81% of sufferers are currently in pain.

Bupa research has shown that 1 in 4 Britons have suffered from knee pain in the last year and 81% of sufferers are currently in pain.

A third (34%) of those currently in pain have suffered for over five years, while more than two fifths (42%) of those who have suffered in the last year have opted not to see their GP about the problem; in 30% of cases the reason given for not seeing a GP was the belief that ‘nothing can be done’ about their condition.

  • The research was conducted on i:omnibus, Ipsos’s online omnibus, between 26th April - 6th May.
  • Questions were asked online of 4043 adults aged 16-75 across GB.
  • The survey data were weighted by Age, Gender, Region, Social Grade, Working Status and Main Shopper to be nationally representative of All Adults aged 16-75 in GB
