The latest GP Patient Survey (GPPS) results have now been published. The infographic below details the headline findings of patients’ experience of healthcare services provided by GP surgeries, including experience of access to GP surgeries, satisfaction with opening hours and experience of out-of-hours GP services.

Ipsos undertakes the GPPS on behalf of NHS England. GPPS is a survey of adult patients registered with GP practices in England. Data is published twice yearly at practice, CCG and national levels.

The latest results of the survey aggregate data collected across two waves of fieldwork, from July to September 2015, and then again from January to March 2016.

Further analysis

GPPS provides a rich source of information on patient experiences of their GP practice. You can access and analyse the results by going to www.gp-patient.co.uk or email the team.

For example, CCGs can access their individual slidepacks which brings together CCG data for key questions in one report, including trend data, practice comparisons, and benchmarking against national level data.

Technical note

The current overall response rate to the survey is 38.9% based on 836,312 surveys returned between 2 July and 2 October 2015, and 4 January and 1 April 2016. Data are weighted to match the profile of the population. Read further technical information about how the survey works.

Please note that from July 2016 there will be changes to the GP Patient Survey, including the frequency of data collection and the content of the questionnaire.
