More than three-quarters of workers in the UK are happy in their current job, with 34% strongly agreeing that they are, according to new research conducted by MORI on behalf of Randstad.

The survey was conducted among a wide range of workers and line managers. When asked directly, salary is the most often mentioned factor contributing to job satisfaction; just over half (51%) of all workers select this as one of their top two or three. Almost half (47%) mentioned either flexible working hours (27%) or work-life balance (26%), and one third job security (33%).

Technical details

In March 2004, MORI interviewed 923 line managers and 1,257 employees across the UK.
