Evaluation of the Flow Coaching Academy programme for the Health Foundation

In 2019, the Health Foundation appointed Ipsos, working with the Strategy Unit, to evaluate the Flow Coaching Academy programme. The programme empowers health and care staff to improve patient flow in the health and care system, by spreading a common purpose, language and method for quality improvement.

The Health Foundation commissioned Ipsos to conduct an evaluation of the Flow Coaching Academy programme. The Foundation has supported the programme, led by the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, for eight years. The programme trains clinicians and managers in quality improvement techniques which they are then encouraged to apply to their own service challenges. The evaluation used mixed methods to give a summative assessment of the programme.
