The State of the State 2013

Deloitte commissioned Ipsos to conduct research among local public service leaders, as part of compiling the evidence base for its new report, The State of the State 2013.

The State of the State 2013 discusses the condition of the UK’s public services and need for reform at a time of growing demand and fiscal austerity.

Ipsos conducted thirty in-depth telephone interviews with senior figures from across England, Wales and Scotland in local government, the NHS and police forces. Interviews were also conducted with senior civil servants from the Northern Ireland Executive.

The findings from this qualitative research were used for the chapter entitled ‘The state of local public services’.
