Eight in ten (81%) British adults say that Paralympics 2012 has had a positive impact on the way disabled people are viewed by the public according to a new Ipsos poll. The poll conducted online also shows that the positivity of the Olympic games has carried on through the Paralympics with three in four Britons (76%) saying the games have had a positive effect on the mood of the British public. This follows from the 86% that said the same about Olympics back in August. Britons also believe that the London Paralympics have been good for the image of Britain abroad with 75% saying it has had a positive impact on the way Britain is viewed by the rest of the world. Simon Atkinson of Ipsos said:
“The fantastic summer of 2012 which began with the Diamond Jubilee celebrations and really built up through the Olympic games has now been topped off by the Paralympics. Through it all the British public have enjoyed themselves and the mood of the nation has been on a high. The Paralympics has also had an important role to play in changing attitudes towards disabled people in Britain”
