Survey Of Overseas Package Holidays

Spain (including the Balearic and Canary Islands) remains the firm favourite for British package holidaymakers, with 42% having visited in the last 12 months. Greece and her islands were voted second favourite (16%), Cyprus and France were third (7%) and the United States and Turkey were equal with 6%.

19% booked less than 1 month before travelling (22% in 1998) with 54% booking between 6 months and 1 month prior to travel (48% in 1998) and 23% between 6 months and 1 year. Only 4% booked more than 1 year in advance.
