Across Ipsos globally, our colleagues are committed to having a positive impact on the environment while contributing to local communities. Many initiatives are organised worldwide to help protect, at a personal scale, the nature around us.

In November 2022, the Energy and Environment team at Ipsos in the UK organised a tree planting day to combat climate change and support nature in our local area. We partnered with Tree Musketeers, a community group that plant and care for trees in the Hackney area of London. With their amazing support, as well as support from the Hackney Local Authority, our group of 13 volunteers planted six trees and flowers in the Kingsmead estate and surrounding green space in Hackney.

The initiative was led by the Energy and Environment team for the Domestic Solid Fuels Research and Evaluation for Defra. A part of this project, we have committed to dedicating two days per year to volunteering activities throughout the duration. This was one of several social value commitments that formed part of our successful bid.

Rachel Brisley, Head of the Energy and Environment team, comments

Not only have these days been an excellent opportunity for the team to participate in activities of social and environmental value, but they have also been a moment to reflect on project delivery and engage with colleagues in a different environment.

We are looking forward to more similar volunteering activities in the future!
