New research shows nearly two-thirds of British people who feel stressed have found the war in Iraq upsetting.

Tony Blair's standing with the electorate has suffered a blow in recent weeks — following high-profile disagreements with senior Labour MPs — with MORI's latest research showing a six per cent drop in his approval rating on Iraq.

A majority of the public still disapproves of Tony Blair's handling of the Iraq situation, but there has been almost a 10% swing in his favour since mid-January as he has fought to justify his position: 36% now approve, while a majority (53%) disapprove.

The British are becoming less enthusiastic about the idea of a war with Iraq, according to fresh research from the MORI Social Research Institute.
