2020 was a banner year for electric vehicles. Over 100 pure electric vehicles are set to debut by the end of 2024, and several major auto manufacturers have committed to 100% EV manufacturing within the next two decades. Given this, how ready are dealerships and manufacturers to educate buyers about, and to sell EVs? Are their online promises being kept at dealerships? Are dealerships educating their sales staff on EVs and a consumer needs to know about owning one? To answer these questions and more, Ipsos sent mystery shoppers to 200 dealerships across the country to see how well prepared they are for the influx of shoppers looking to buy electric vehicles. We investigated the entire sales process all the way up to the point of purchase, including a shoppers ability to research the dealership’s offering online, availability of models and EV information onsite, the sales staff knowledge of EVs, charging and much more.

Listen in as we share the latest findings from our 2021 EV Dealer Assessment program. You will hear best practices being utilized by today’s EV selling dealerships and what areas need improvement, key information to successfully prepare and covert interested consumers into EV buyers.
