Lorenzo Larini, CEO of Ipsos North America, joins Harambe Entrepreneur Alliance Board
Lorenzo Larini, Chief Executive Officer of Ipsos North America, has joined the board of the Harambe Entrepreneur Alliance, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering young African innovators and entrepreneurs.
New York, July 14, 2023 – Ipsos, one of the largest market research and polling companies globally, is pleased to announce that Lorenzo Larini, Chief Executive Officer of Ipsos North America, has joined the board of the Harambe Entrepreneur Alliance (https://www.harambeans.com/team), a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering young African innovators and entrepreneurs.
Since its founding in 2008, the Harambe Entrepreneur Alliance has grown from a student club into a dynamic pan-African community of young leaders and founders. Today, the organization — named after harambee, the Swahili word for “work towards a common purpose” — provides fiscal support and mentorship to a thriving network of Harambeans, African innovators who have pledged “to work together as one” to unlock the potential of Africa.
Over the last decade, Harambeans have spawned several tech-enabled ventures, including Andela, Flutterwave, and Yoco, which have collectively generated over 3,000 jobs and raised over $2bn from Google Ventures, CRE Ventures and Launch Africa.
Larini has gained deep experience in strategy and technology for both global corporations and early-stage start-ups. His advice and advocacy will be invaluable to the Harambe Entrepreneur Alliance, which has produced several successful ventures across the last decade.
"With the enablement of three unicorns and over 3,000 jobs in Africa, the Harambe Entrepreneur Alliance has certainly proven that talent is equally distributed across the world, but opportunities are not. Africa is a young, growing and exciting continent, and I’m honored to be part of an alliance that will make an impact on its future,” Larini said.
“As the Harambeans Lab enters the second phase of its deployment and the global implications of African innovation become increasingly evident, Larini’s ascension to our Advisory Board will enable us to transform the hindsight of Harambeans into the foresight of the next generation of African innovators, and to equip Harambeans with the networks necessary to scale their venture across Africa and around the world,” said Okendo Lewis-Gayle, founder and chairman of the Harambe Entrepreneur Alliance.
Larini’s appointment is a testament to Ipsos’ continued commitment and investment on important social issues around the world.
