2016 US Elections - Electoral College Votes Before The First Presidential Debate (September 26)

Hillary Clinton holds a small electoral college advantage going into tonight’s big fight, er, debate. However, her lead in several key states is slim and a rough performance tonight could open several paths to 270 for Donald Trump as many states remain tossups.

General Election Trends

Hillary Clinton holds a small Electoral College lead heading into the first Presidential Debate. Clinton leads in states equaling 259 votes while Donald Trump leads in states equaling 191 electoral college votes with 88 votes up for grabs.

  • Clinton holds the customary Democratic bastions on the East and West Coast along with the swing states of North Carolina, Virginia, Ohio and Florida.
  • Trump wins across the South and Mountain West.
  • Several states in the Midwest and Mountain West remain too close to call (including Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Colorado and Nevada).
