Majority Around the World Say Current Leaders Should Be Replaced

Six in 10 (62%) respondents in 24 countries around the world agree that their current national leader and the government that leader presides over should be replaced by someone else. 59% agree their leaders have a hidden agenda and half (54%) agree their leaders are in power for themselves and not for any other reason.

Politicians Beware

Over half (54%) of global respondents agree that their current primary leader and their national government should be swept from power. South Africa (83%), Mexico (73%) and Spain (67%) are at the top of the list. Countries where the least number of respondents agree with a sweeping government overhaul are Argentina (25%), Russia (25%) and Canada (36%). 

Looking on the Bright Side

Half (45%) of global citizens agree that their national leader and their government have policies that are good for their country. Majorities support their government in India (82%), Russia (75%), Canada (67%) and Argentina (65%).  Only three in ten (28%) agree that their government’s policies are good in South Africa, followed by France (28%) and Spain (31%).

Household Income

Those with high household income agree more with their government policies than those with medium (44%) or low (42%) incomes.
