Taking Responsibility - Empowering Youth to do Research
Last week, as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, Kenyan employees held an induction session to research with 3rd and 4th year Marketing students from various universities.
Samuel Muthoka, Head of Clients East Cluster and his Connect colleagues were keynote speakers at the session that was coordinated by the Marketing Association of Kenya.
The objective was to empower youth to appreciate research and emphasize its place in decision making.
The session explored research in general, methodologies and career opportunities in the industry.
Samuel Muthoka also introduced Ipsos, its vision and values, its specialist strategy and services and how they support clients' data-driven decision making process.
Samuel Muthoka says:
Students expressed interests in taking core courses in market and media research as well as in internship opportunities to enhance their competencies. We are currently discussing hands-on courses in partnership with the Marketing Association and the universities.
Another important leg of the CSR program in Kenya are the Research Clubs of Africa, an initiative to create awareness about research in 50+ public and private high schools and colleges in Kenya.
