Taking Responsibility - Ipsos in Brazil and Arca do Saber in Sao Paulo
Arca do Saber is a Franco-Brazilian NGO founded in 2001 and located at the heart of the Vila Prudente Favela in Sao Paulo. Each day, the organisation welcomes 120 children aged from 6 – 14 years old. Arco do Saber helps them to acquire knowledge through numerous activities (French and English lessons, arts, physical education and reading) as well as benefitting from a balanced diet of two meals per day per child.
The charity is very keen to extend the remit to help support children and teenagers aged 15+. The NGO owns two small houses next to the current centre and the project is to demolish them in order to rebuild an extension to the main building in order to create a professional training centre for teenagers and young adults.
In conjunction with Carrefour, Foundation Hermès, Guarani and Saint Gobain, the Ipsos Foundation will be providing fundings to help complete this rebuilding.
The building work will start this month and is due for completion in July 2017 ready for the first year of activities from August 2017.
