[Taking Responsibility] The Ipsos Foundation supports its first project in Colombia
Urabá is one of the regions most affected by the violence in Colombia and young people growing up there face great challenges to complete their education, find employment and become active citizens. For many years the region has been a major battleground for armed groups; education has not been a priority and the lives of many young people and their families have been directly affected by the violence.
The Ipsos Foundation has awarded to the Rumbo Emprender project whose aim is to support 150 students (aged 14-18) to design and produce 30 socially responsible entrepreneurship projects that are directly linked to the needs in their community. The students will develop the character and leadership skills necessary to become effective and responsible leaders and contribute to building peace in Colombia. Two schools in addition to the 150 students will also directly benefit. This is the first application from Colombia and the Trustees were pleased to see that there will be volunteering opportunities for Ipsos in Colombia.
