Taking Responsibility - The Ipsos Foundation supports The Peninsula School Feeding Association in South Africa
The main aims of The Peninsula School Feeding Association in South Africa are to reduce short term hunger, enhance children’s ability to learn through school feeding and increase school attendance.
This is a perfect fit with the mission of the Ipsos Foundation which is to help disadvantaged children with education and earlier this year an award was made to The Peninsula School Feeding Association.
Gillian Drewett (Ipsos Laboratories) said, “As a team of researchers who spend most of our day in focused concentration, thinking and learning, we are fully aware of the evidence that shows concentration and the ability to learn are negatively impacted when a learner is hungry. The grant from the Ipsos Foundation will support the The Peninsula School Feeding Association to make a difference in the lives of these learners with two meals a day throughout an entire school year. What a privilege!” Gillian and Kathrine Starke (Ipsos Laboratories) recently visited two primary schools where they had the opportunity to experience the feeding programme in action, serve meals and interact with the children. The positive impact of the donations extends beyond the intended beneficiaries – “We (Ipsos Laboratories) have had the most amazing experiences as a result of the Ipsos Foundation donations”.
