Taking Responsibility - Kythe Foundation in the Philippines

Today, the focus is on the Kythe Foundation in the Philippines.

To date, the Ipsos Foundation has donated to 10 charities. We are featuring the charities that have, or will, benefit from the Ipsos Foundation. Today, the focus is on the Kythe Foundation in the Philippines.

Kythe is a charitable organisation that addresses the psychological and social needs of disadvantaged chronically ill children in the Philippines. Established over 20 years ago, Kythe works in public hospitals so that chronically ill children, particularly those suffering from cancer, can face their fears, pain and sadness and continue to play and grow whilst receiving appropriate medical care. Through their unique ‘Child Life Programme’, they have provided psychological and social support to over 14,000 patients across 12 affiliate hospitals in the Philippines. They have also improved the survival rate in three affiliate hospitals where they work most closely.

Over the next 12 months, the Ipsos Foundation will be supporting the Kythe Child Life Programme, helping a total of 3,000 patients in three hospitals. The Kythe project is overseen by Alvin Miranda, Ipsos HR Director in the Philippines, who will be giving a report on progress in six months’ time.
