Communication campaigns were run as part of the UK Government’s public health campaign activity in response to the coronavirus pandemic between March 2021 and January 2022. Each had its own set of objectives and was evaluated via robust and representative campaign tracking which measured public awareness, attitudes and behaviours.

Data is available  from 16 waves of tracking research that Ipsos conducted on behalf of the Government’s COVID-19 Communications Hub over the timeframe of the campaigns. Each wave of research comprised a nationally representative sample, with quotas set on region, social grade and gender by age. Additional weights were applied on household size and final education age to ensure the sample was fully representative.

Each wave included online interviews with c.2,000 adults aged 18+ in the United Kingdom. Within some waves, questions were only asked of respondents living within specific nations to reflect variations in policy and associated targeting of campaign activity.
