Diversity and Multiple Identities - University of Oxford

We will be conducting survey fieldwork for a research project by Oxford University which looks at how ethnic diversity can impact on social trust.

Ipsos will be carrying out fieldwork for the Department of Experimental Psychology at Oxford University. The aim of the overall project is to evaluate Robert Putnam’s predictions that areas with high levels of ethnic diversity manifest low levels of social trust.  The study comprises a nationally representative survey supplemented by an ethnic minority boost survey, with 1600 interviews in total.  Ipsos contributed to the questionnaire design and carried out cognitive testing to refine the questions.  Findings from Year 1 of the study will examine ways in which trust and cohesion may be fostered and implemented in neighbourhood policy.
