The New Hunting Law

Nearly three in four people in Britain (72%) believe "people who support hunting would be wrong to carry on hunting in view of the new law", according to MORI research for The League Against Cruel Sports. Support for this view is at least 70% among all social class groups, and there is a clear majority throughout Great Britain. The survey also shows a majority (57%) believe the Hunting Act 'should remain in place, and hunting should not be allowed to re-start'.

Q1 As you may know, a law was recently passed called 'The Hunting Act', to end these forms of hunting.

Some people hope that this law may be cancelled (or 'repealed') after the General Election -- so allowing hunting to re-start. Other people feel the new law should remain in place, and hunting should not be allowed to re-start.

Which of these statements best reflects your own view?

Q2 Some people who support hunting say they may break the law -- for example by continuing to hunt -- because they feel the Hunting Act is wrong. Other people who support hunting say they will nevertheless abide by the new law, and not carry on hunting foxes, deer, hare & mink.
