Pub People are Happy People ...

It's official. Seven out of ten people questioned in a MORI poll of pub-going and eating in pubs regard themselves as "happy" people (70%), with only 13% claiming to feel "unhappy" about life.

It's official. Seven out of ten people questioned in a MORI poll of pub-going and eating in pubs regard themselves as "happy" people (70%), with only 13% claiming to feel "unhappy" about life.

And it appears that the regular pub-goer has the edge in the happiness stakes, with 10% more "happy" people (77%) going to the pub to eat or drink once a week than among those who go less than once a month (67%).

These figures emerged from one of the largest ever attitude surveys of public opinion, conducted by MORI to mark Pub Food Week in June 1997.

... And They Eat Well Too!

Over two-fifths of the adult population of England and Wales - around 16 million people - now eat out in a pub at least once a month. Apart from fish and chip shops (which are largely takeaway), this makes the pub the most popular place to eat out, outstripping all other types of restaurants and fast food outlets.

There is no doubting the popularity of the pub for food.
