Ipsos’s i:omnibus was commissioned by the Energy Saving Trust to conduct a survey on public perception and understanding of what actions within the home can save money.

A number of statements were asked, to which respondents simply had to respond whether they thought the statements were true or false. The research is released for Big Energy Saving Week, which highlights the perceptions of the UK public and how they don’t always match the reality of the energy saving action or statement.

Technical Note

The research was conducted online by Ipsos on behalf of the Energy Saving Trust among a total of 2,067 adults aged 16-75 in the United Kingdom from 18th – 21st January 2014 via its Online iOmnibus Survey.

The survey data was weighted by age, gender, region, social grade, working status and education to the known profile of the UK population aged 16-75.
