State Pension reforms: research into awareness and understanding
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) commissioned Ipsos to carry out a survey exploring the public’s awareness and understanding of the State Pension system and, specifically, of upcoming State Pension reforms. From April 2016, the current basic and additional State Pension will be replaced by a new State Pension, which aims to simplify the State Pension system and make it easier for people to plan for later life. More information about the new State Pension is available at www.gov.uk/new-state-pension.
The survey provides insight into levels of awareness and understanding before any DWP communications activity around the changes has taken place, and will be used to inform a forthcoming DWP communications campaign around the new State Pension.
