Times 2001 Campaign Polls Wave 5

MORI's final "predictive" poll at the 2001 election, published on polling day

MORI's final "predictive" poll involved face-to-face, in-home, CAPI (Computer Assisted Personal Interviewing) of 1,967 British adults who are registered to vote, on Tuesday 5 June 2001. In addition, MORI reinterviewed 272 people on Wednesday by telephone and used their changed voting intentions, plus the 1997 recall of the 2% who refused to say how they were going to vote at the initial interview, to calculate their reported voting intention figures.

As for last week's poll for The Times, and as in 1997, MORI showed the names and party affiliations of those candidates standing in each constituency to respondents. Data were weighted to reflect the national population profile. Otherwise there was no change in MORI's methodology.
