The roll-out of the benefit cap and other welfare reforms is controversial. But the government is gambling on the fact that the changes are undoubtedly popular with the public, writes Ben Marshall in Public Finance.
New data from Ipsos taken April 24th – 28th reveals that two thirds of Britons do not have confidence that the UK Government are running the country with integrity, nor properly, competently and seriously.
Over half of Scots (51%) think that energy policy should be devolved to the Scottish Government, while a quarter (25%) feel responsibility should be shared equally with the UK Government and 14% that it should be reserved to Westminster.
