The Ipsos-CARD Dissertation Proposal supports young, talented minds conducting scientific research. This competition is open to graduate students worldwide who are in the dissertation stage of their doctoral programs. Submissions are reviewed by a committee of judges, including faculty from the Fox School and industry experts from Ipsos, who evaluate the proposals based on academic and scientific accuracy, methodological rigor, and potential applications for industry and society.
This award is part of the Ipsos Academic Partnership Program, an initiative that enables Ipsos to leverage scientific breakthroughs in data science, consumer neuroscience, behavioral science, and psychology through reciprocal collaborations with top universities.
“By bridging the gap between academia and industry, the Ipsos Academic Partnership Program supports groundbreaking academic work and integrates it into Ipsos’ own research capabilities to drive innovation,” said Davide Baldo, global lead of experimental research at Ipsos and lead of the Ipsos Academic Partnership Program.
"This competition aligns perfectly with our commitment to forward-thinking research that produces practical and impactful solutions for our clients and the industry at large," added Manuel Garcia-Garcia, global lead of science activation, research, and strategy at Ipsos.
The Ipsos-CARD Dissertation Proposal competition is part of a long-running partnership between Ipsos and the CARD lab, built upon a shared interest in multi-method research and a common investment in translating academic work into impactful insights for business and society.
“The dissertation proposal competition is a great way to recognize PhD students who are working on challenging projects in interdisciplinary areas,” said Vinod Venkatraman, associate professor of marketing and director of CARD. "We also wanted to use this competition as a way of motivating students to think about the translational impact of their research."
