Memorial Day Brings Out a More Unified America
Washington, DC - Despite the apparent gap between Red State and Blue State America propelled by this crazy election season, Americans are actually more alike than different when it comes to celebrating Memorial Day. We all want to celebrate a good holiday.
- In a pleasant change of pace, there are no significant differences in how Republicans and Democrats plan to spend Memorial Day, illustrating that there are still more things we share than separate us.
- New Ipsos poll data indicates that Americans are unified in remembering our brave service men and women (50% will remember a specific person this holiday), mostly from the World War II and Vietnam eras.
- When asked how they planned to spend Memorial Day, most hope to take it easy (38%), go to a barbeque (35%) or maybe attend a parade (12%) or ceremony (14%).
