Reuters/Ipsos Poll: Second Trump Impeachment Trial
Washington, DC, February 13, 2021
The second snap Ipsos poll for Reuters fielded on February 12th shows no significant movement compared to the end of the first day of the impeachment trial on February 9th. In each poll, around half of Americans say the U.S. Senate should convict Donald Trump for inciting an insurrection. Some movement can be seen in those paying at least some attention to the proceedings, with slightly fewer reporting this now. Fewer than one in five say they have watched multiple hours of the testimony, and most (55%) have seen just clips or no excerpts at all.

About the Study
These are some of the findings of an Ipsos poll conducted on behalf of Thomson Reuters on February 12, 2021, from 4:00pm ET until 7:00pm ET, after the defense rested during the second impeachment trial. For this survey, a sample of 998 adults age 18-65 from the continental U.S., Alaska and Hawaii were interviewed online in English. Weighting was then employed to balance demographics to ensure that the sample's composition reflects that of the adult population according to Census data and to provide results intended to approximate the sample universe. The precision of Ipsos online polls is measured using a credibility interval. In this case, the poll is accurate to within ± 4 percentage points, 19 times out of 20, had all Americans been polled. The credibility interval will be wider among subsets of the population. All sample surveys and polls may be subject to other sources of error, including, but not limited to coverage error, and measurement error.
