2016 US Elections - Hillary Clinton Still Maintains Her 10-point Lead (June 30)

Political Trends

The focus on terrorism as a problem facing America is subsiding. This week terrorism (20%) and the economy (18%) are essentially tied after terrorism was the sole #1 issue last week.

 

General Election Matchups

Hillary Clinton still maintains her 10-point lead, at 42% to Donald Trump’s 32% among registered voters nationwide.

  • Just over a quarter (26%) of registered voters are uncommitted saying they would vote for another party, don’t know who they’d vote for or they wouldn’t vote.

In the 4-way ballot including Libertarian Gary Johnson and Green Jill Stein, the overall picture is relatively similar to the 2-way ballot. Hillary Clinton leads Donald Trump by 11 points among registered voters, 42% to 31%.

  • o The two third party candidates cumulatively attract the support of less than 10% of registered voters with Johnson at 5% and Stein at 4%.

 

Generic Congressional Ballot

In our generic congressional ballot question, generic Democratic candidates continue to hold a sizable advantage nationwide at 44% to 33%.

 

These are findings from an Ipsos poll conducted for Thomson Reuters June 25-29, 2016. For the survey, a sample of 1,543 Americans ages 18+ were interviewed online.
