2017 US Politics - President Trump’s Approval is 36% (October 11)

In the latest Reuters/Ipsos Core Political, nearly two in ten Americans (18%) now believe terrorism is the most important problem facing the US today.

In the Ipsos ‘Wh-Exit’ poll, predicting the next White House or Executive Branch employee to resign or be terminated, Rex Tillerson now tops the list. Up 16 points from last week, nearly a quarter of Americans predict Tillerson be the next to go following a dramatic week of words between him and President Trump (24% this week, 8% last week).

As America continues to grapple with the Las Vegas shooting, nearly two in ten Americans (18%) now believe terrorism is the most important problem facing the US today, closely followed by healthcare at 17%.

President Trump’s job approval is at 36%, down just one point from last week (37%).  As Republicans begin to outline tax reform, Trump’s approval on taxation has remained steady at 39%.

These are findings from an Ipsos poll conducted for Thomson Reuters October 6-10, 2017. For the survey, a sample of 1,584 Americans, ages 18+ were interviewed online.
