After a dip last week, more Americans than ever before consider healthcare a top priority for the country. Nearly three in ten (27%) say it’s the most important problem facing the US today, distantly followed by terrorism (11%) and the economy (11%). Concern over healthcare spans political parties with both Republicans (21%) and Democrats (33%) prioritising healthcare.

Trump’s highest issue approval ratings remain the US economy (44%), employment and jobs (45%) and dealing with ISIS/ISIL (46%). The President continues to struggle to raise his approval on the environment (32%), corruption (33%), and the way he treats people like me (33%). Overall, Trump’s job approval is at 35%.

Ahead of the latest Congressional vote to discuss Obamacare, the American public lost some confidence in their Representatives. Dropping four percentage points this week, 40% of Americans say they approve of the way their Congressperson is handling their job as Representative. However, support for specific Congresspersons is still nearly double the number who approve of Congress as a whole (21%).

These are findings from an Ipsos poll conducted for Thomson Reuters July 21-25, 2017 For the survey, a sample of 1,532 Americans, ages 18+ were interviewed online.
