Approval ratings continue to be split along party lines, with just 13% of Democrats approving of Donald Trump’s performance compared to 79% of Republicans. His strongest improvement is with Independents where 44% currently approve of his performance.
President Trump receives the strongest accolades on the US economy (59%), while getting the lowest marks on the environment (36%) and how he treats regular people (36%). Healthcare continues to top the list of the most important problems facing America (18%), while just two in five Americans (43%) approve of President Trump’s handling of healthcare reform.
When considering the elections for Congress this coming November, Americans are equally split on whether they would choose a Democratic candidate (36%) or a Republican candidate (35%). Meanwhile, just a quarter of Americans (24%) approve of the way Congress as whole is handling its job, and just 42% approve of the job of their individual representative.
Scott Pruitt, the administrator of the EPA, continues to top the Reuters Ipsos Wh’Exit Poll for the last several weeks, with 18% of Americans noting that they believe he will be the next to resign or be terminated in the White House. Attorney General, Jeff Sessions, remains in the number two spot, with 17%. Newly confirmed Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, is believed to be relatively secure with just 6% of Americans.

These are findings from an Ipsos poll conducted for Thomson Reuters May 4-8, 2018. For the survey, a sample of 1,365 Americans, including 1,171 registered voters, 478 Democrats, 520 Republicans, and 138 Independents ages 18+ were interviewed online.
