The Research Clubs of Africa Rolls Out Into the British Curriculum Schools’ Space in Kenya
It's another feather in the cap of The Research Clubs of Africa (RCA) in Kenya; after 10 years of active engagement in public secondary schools, the first RCA chapter in British Curriculum schools was launched at Braeside.
The idea to get RCA into these began as a dare from National Patron and Ipsos in Kenya MD, Aggrey Oriwo, who challenged the RCA team to think outside the Government education system. This was well received by the Kenya staff who are active mentors because Market Research is a syllabus fulfillment of the IGCSE system of education. Hence the engagement will include an academic fulfillment which will create opportunities for classroom teaching. The inaugural chapter is Braeside School. Over the last few years, students from the British Curriculum school system have visited the Ipsos offices during their school education trips where they have sat through presentations made by volunteer practicing market researchers.
"I am really excited about the club but more about interacting with real market researchers in class. It will be really cool to hear form the horse's mouth how Market Research theories and approaches translate into answers for brands using real examples." Audrey, Year 10 student at Braeside School.
The objective of RCA is to demystify and promote the early awareness, understanding, adoption and use of market and social research among secondary school students (13-17 years).
"Expanding RCA in this new frontier is an imprint platform for Ipsos to growing the Market Research Industry in Kenya. The opportunity to mold these young curious and inquisitive minds has its dividend." Aggrey Oriwo, National Patron RCA.
