Taking Responsibility - Ipsos Foundation and Ipsos in Italy fund Belladona
When the Ipsos Foundation reviews applications there are a number of potential outcomes. These include approving in full, approving in part or reject. When Ipsos in Italy proposed funding Belladonna, the Ipsos Foundation agreed to match whatever money Ipsos in Italy could raise. Belladonna wished to create the Amber Project, working in a very poor rural part of Northern India, offering a vocational training program aimed at girls that had to, or risked having to, leave school in order to accept arranged marriages and be condemned to a life of violence and subjugation.
Through the hard work and effort of many in Ipsos in Italy, and particularly Simona Longoni and Nora Schmitz, they succeeded in raising money from Ipsos in Italy employees, clients, suppliers and respondents. As a result, Belladonna will receive a relevant amount of money which will allow them to construct a vocational centre to provide training for the girls, leading to a minimum level of economic independence which completely changes their role within their families and communities.
