Taking Responsibility - Ipsos supports Die Arche in Germany
Many of the children here have suffered from a mixture of poverty, unstable families, drug abuse in family and with little chance of social participation and education. As the name 'ark', suggests children and young adults find shelter and support in the house, in an atmosphere of trust, where they can restart their education. The aim of Die Arche is to provide education in the main subjects of maths, German and English, the arts and at the same time providing a free healthy lunch.
Since 2013 the learning camp of Die Arche was introduced to further foster the teenagers' graduation from school. The risk of not finishing school is especially high among those from socially disadvantaged backgrounds. The Ipsos Foundation will be funding this learning camp, where 30 children will attend during the spring vacation later this year. This will serve as ideal preparation to the exams in the summer. The funding will provide all accommodation, materials, food and the necessary tutors.
