Ipsos Scotland has conducted periodic universal employee surveys for City of Edinburgh Council since 2000 and recently conducted the 2012 survey. These have involved a mixed paper and online survey exploring employees’ perceptions of aspects affecting their working life, including satisfaction with job factors, communication and change within the Council. The analysis of the surveys have focused on changes in perceptions over time and also placed the results within the context of similar organisations to identify areas where the Council was performing well and where it should look to improve.

Technical Details

All Council employees were invited to participate in the survey between 23 April and 11 June 2012. Overall, 5,650 employees completed the survey, which represents a response rate of 36%.
