Ipsos executives named two of the most influential people in local government

Ben Page and Bobby Duffy of Ipsos recognised by the Local Government Chronicle's LGC50 supplement as two of the most influential people in local government.

Ben Page and Bobby Duffy of Ipsos have been recognised by the Local Government Chronicle’s LGC50 supplement as two of the most influential people in local government.

Ben Page, chief executive of Ipsos, was number 25 in the top 50 list. He was selected by the panel of judges for the quality of statistics the company produces to track public attitudes to local government as well as his powerful analysis of them.

Bobby Duffy, managing director of the Social Research Institute at Ipsos, was chosen as one of the top ten drivers of change in local government. The LGC50 supplement described him as having been “instrumental in pushing for high-quality, evidence-based research for nearly 15 years.”

Commenting on the LGC50, Ben Page said:

“It is always nice to be recognised personally for your achievements, but the quality of research and expert analysis is only made possible by the expert teams we have at Ipsos. This is a recognition of their hard work and achievements.”

Notes to Editors

The LGC 50 highlights the 50 most influential people in local government, both within councils and the policymakers, politicans and national figures who are shaping the landscape. This year the judging process was changed, with both readers and the judging panel invited to submit nominations. For each entry, judges considered strength of leadership; scope, breadth and depth of influence; and power. LGC's panel members were selected for their in-depth knowledge and each is influential in their own right. In fact, several judges appear in the LGC 50 themselves – but each was excused from discussion about their own inclusion and position, and the editor ranked them. You can read about all of the ‘Drivers of Change’ and the entrants on the LGC 50 – LGC's list of 50 people expected to wield influence in the year ahead – in their special supplement, which can be viewed here.
