Saif al islam Qadhafi commissioned Kings College London and Ipsos, in conjunction with FACTS Worldwide India and Aftab Associates in Pakistan, to conduct the first ever opinion poll across all of Kashmir, the purpose of which was to establish current attitudes to the ongoing dispute over Kashmir and its possible solution.

Saif al islam Qadhafi commissioned Kings College London and Ipsos, in conjunction with FACTS Worldwide India and Aftab Associates in Pakistan, to conduct the first ever opinion poll across all of Kashmir, the purpose of which was to establish current attitudes to the ongoing dispute over Kashmir and its possible solution. The poll was conducted simultaneously on both sides of the Line of Control that has separated Indian and Pakistani controlled Kashmir since the UN-brokered ceasefire on January 1st 1949.

Technical details

A total of 3,774 interviews, selected by quota sampling, were held face-to-face in 11 of the 14 districts in Indian Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) and 7 of the 8 districts in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) in Pakistan between 17 September and 28 October 2009. Gilgit-Baltisan was excluded.
