The August 2026 Ipsos Issues Index shows that immigration continues to be seen as the biggest issue facing Britain. Forty-two per cent of Britons name immigration as an important issue facing the country, relatively unchanged since last month.

The research highlights low engagement with British current affairs among American citizens, misaligned perceptions of national crises, and deep inward-looking domestic anxieties within both countries as global economic and political uncertainty continues.
