Survey on the importance of landscape in housing developments 

Over 2,000 adults participated in the research conducted in March 2026

The survey covered topics including the level of importance the public place on various aspects when considering a housing development and the benefits of incorporating communal green spaces into the design of housing developments.

Technical note:

On behalf of Landscape Institute, Ipsos interviewed a representative quota sample of 2,246 adults aged 16-75 in the UK on the i:omnibus online. The samples achieved are representative of the populations with interlocking quotas on age within gender, and quotas on region and working status. The data has been weighted to the known offline population proportions for interlocking cells of gender within age and working status, as well as region, social grade and education to reflect the adult population. Fieldwork has been conducted 27th – 31st March 2026.
