Over half of Britons believe taking actions to hire refugees in the UK would have a positive effect as a solution to labour shortages

Tent Partnership for Refugees commissioned a survey conducted by Ipsos to find out what effect hiring refugees can have on labour shortages in the UK.

When Britons were asked to think about actions that businesses could take to address labour shortages, 52% cited a positive effect from helping refugees already in the UK who have the right to work, to find, apply for and start roles in their organisation.

Technical note

For Tent Partnership For Refugees, Ipsos interviewed a representative quota sample of 2,192 adults aged 16-75 in the United Kingdom using its online i:omnibus between 17th and 20th February 2024. The sample obtained is representative of the population with quotas on age, gender, region and working Status. The data has been weighted to the known offline population proportions for age, working status and social grade within gender, and for government office region and education, to reflect the adult population of the United Kingdom.
