Qualitative research into Edinburgh residents' interest and participation in cultural and sporting activities in Edinburgh.

 

Ipsos carried out follow up research on the findings of the Edinburgh Residents Survey on behalf of esar consultants. This was part of a wider project addressing access to sport and culture conducted for the City of Edinburgh Council. The objective of the interviews was to explore interest and participation in physical and cultural activities in Edinburgh. Specifically, this included:

  • Current involvement – type, frequency and length of time
  • Motivation
  • Barriers to involvement
  • Interest in doing more
Telephone depth interviews were conducted with 27 Edinburgh Residents, Spring 2008. Respondents were recruited from the Edinburgh Residents Survey.
