Confidence in local NHS services is high, with eight in ten people saying they are confident that they or a family member would receive good care from NHS services in their local area (80%). Fewer are confident that NHS services in their local area will be able to provide high quality care to patients this winter though (70%), and less than a quarter think local NHS services will get better over the next few years (22%). In order to maintain the current level of care and services provided by the NHS, four in ten think people should be charged for some NHS services (39%), while three in ten think people should pay more tax than they do now (30%). Six in ten think spending on the NHS should be increased to maintain services as they are now (62%).
Technical Details
- The Foundation Trust Network (FTN) commissioned Ipsos to survey 1,124 adults in England aged 15 and over.
- Respondents were interviewed face-to-face between 24 October – 2 November 2014.
- Data are weighted to reflect the population profile in England.
