Quality Research Methods take centre stage at Ipsos
Ipsos today launched the Research Methods Centre (RMC) to build on its reputation for research of the highest quality
Ipsos today launched the Research Methods Centre (RMC) to build on its reputation for research of the highest quality. The centre will provide a hub of expertise in sampling, survey methodology and advanced data analysis. Our mission will be to develop a widely respected cutting-edge methodological unit and to maximise company-wide quantitative methodological knowledge and expertise (focusing initially on PA, Loyalty and Media). This comprises a core team of five statistical and methodological experts, led by Dr Patten Smith and Dr Andrew Zelin, who have published a number of methodological reports and papers in academic journals - including the MRS award winning “Cluster Sampling: A False Economy” paper. Ben Page, CEO of Ipsos said:
We pride ourselves on producing research of the highest quality using the latest methodologies and techniques - and the Research Methods Centre will make sure that we continue to produce first rate research that delivers real benefits for our clients. This is a major new initiative for us, and one we feel will be even more important in times of budget constraints, when clients are looking to us to do things quicker, smarter and more cost-effectively.
The team’s functions will include:
- developing innovative methods and techniques to research opinions and behaviours;
- advising clients on the most appropriate solutions to their research questions, including using leading edge techniques;
- generating primary methodological research for dissemination in journals and conferences;
- offering training and support internally and to clients on research methods.
