REpower is one of the world’s leading wind turbine manufacturers. It provides end-to-end wind farm solutions, from the initial site assessment through to the installation and maintenance of high-technology turbines. From its birth in Germany in 2001, it now employs nearly 2,000 people in Germany, Belgium, the UK, Italy, Portugal, France, Spain, US, Australia, Japan and China.
Set up in 2003 to serve the rapidly growing UK renewable energy market, REpower UK Ltd is an expanding organisation with a Head Office in central Edinburgh and four service locations across the UK.
Rapid growth brings challenges – not least, helping staff manage workload and attracting and retaining the talent. As a result, REpower UK asked Ipsos to assess the views of staff towards working for the company, their motivations for having joined, engagement with the vision for growth and the challenges they face in keeping pace with the sector.
In 2010, Ipsos conducted depth interviews and focus group discussions with staff across the business and the organisation’s first ever universal staff survey in advance of its annual staff conference.
