A new Ipsos in the UK poll suggests that Sir Stephen Fry is the early favourite among fans of the hit show to win the upcoming celebrity edition of the BBC's, "The Traitors."  Of the names rumoured to be participating in the show, Fry is both the British fans ’s favourite to win and the contestant perceived to be the ‘best’ traitor.

Alan Carr is predicted by the show’s faithful fans to struggle, emerging as the most likely to be the "worst at the game." The survey, conducted online among 321 British adults aged 18-75 who watch the show between April 25-28, 2025, asked respondents to predict the performance of rumoured celebrity contestants.

Stephen Fry emerged as the frontrunner, with 16% of respondents backing him for the win. Although one in five (18%) said they were unsure. He also leads as being the best Traitor hunter (13%) and best Traitor (13%). Meanwhile, Alan Carr was deemed most likely to struggle, with 18%predicting he would be the worst at the game.

Opinion is split across most other contestants, but fans do have slightly higher expectations for Tom Daley and Johnthan Ross, with nearly one in ten (8%) saying they would make the best Traitor. And similarly, Claire Balding is seen is a likely faithful with one in ten (10%) saying she’d make the best Traitor hunter.

Commenting on the findings, Cameron Garrett, Associate Director at Ipsos (and claimed to be 100% Faithful), said:

Traitor faithfuls expect Sir Stephen Fry to be a master of wit and deception who has the skills to thrive in the Traitor’s Castle. However, if previous seasons are anything to go by, his brainbox perceptions could mark his early downfall. If his fellow gameplayers fear he’s one step-ahead then they might want to eliminate the competition sooner rather than later. Meanwhile, fans expect Claire Balding to be a firm faithful, but will she be donning a cloak and murdering her celebrity pals in the clock tower? And will Alan Carr be able to defy expectations, pretending to be hapless, before releasing a ruthless streak at the roundtable? One thing is for sure, with one in three (29%) Brits saying they have watched at least some of the show, the public will be pouring out a fizzy pink rosé and hoping to spot what the spectacular Claudia Winkleman is hiding under her fringe for us this time.
