A study of European students, conducted by the BBVA Foundation shows that while students are interested in politics they do not place much trust in politicans.  Also featuring low on the trust scale are clergy and journalists while doctors, scientists, university professors and engineers are viewed more favourably. The study, with the participation of over 18,000 students in six countries, covers student attitudes on a wide range of issues including trust placed in individual professions and institutions, students' ideological self-identification and their membership of organisations.
